Flossing kids — when to start and how

As soon as two teeth touch. Floss picks are fine — technique matters more than tool.

Start flossing as soon as any two of your child's teeth touch — usually 2–3 years old. Floss picks make the job dramatically easier for small mouths. Do it after brushing, in the same order every night, so nothing is missed. Bleeding for the first week means the gums need it, not that you should stop.
