Fluoride for kids — the honest guide

Fluoride is the single most effective cavity-prevention tool. Here's the dose that matters.

Below 3 years: rice-grain of fluoride toothpaste, twice daily. 3–6 years: pea-sized amount, twice daily. Fluoride varnish at every dental visit from the first tooth. Fluoridated tap water is safe and effective. Fluorosis (white spots) only occurs from swallowing large amounts of toothpaste — supervise until age 6.
